Ponya Ferdinand is a gifted performing artist hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana. With her expertise in dramatic acting roles and dance forms rooted in the tapestry of the African diaspora, her diverse repertoire also includes vocal performances, where she delves into Jazz and Blues.

July 2025: Here is the video from the performance of Pixinguinha to Bechet: An Evening of Choro and Traditional Jazz at the New Orleans Jazz Museum on April 30. Performing Jazz standards and expanding my vocal repertoire was incredible. And performing with such sold musicians was out of this world. I just finished applying for the Jazz and Heritage Community Partnership Grant for 2025-2026. We are excited about performing again in the Big Easy in 2026. The New Orleans Jazz Museum was an amazing organization to partner with for this project. We are so grateful to Lisa McClendon, Greg Lambousy, and the Tech Team.
